What to Expect
A physical evaluation of your project will be conducted in order to provide an estimate of the costs involved. There is never a charge for this service. A preliminary estimate is based on information provided by the client; any engineers involved; our physical inspection; and/or past projects of a similar nature. Upon choosing to move forward, a one-day Field Anchor Load Test is performed at the site. This test will provide technical information to determine the number, depth, and torque necessary to install the helical anchors in the most effective manner.
Based on the information gathered, an anchor location plan is formulated. We then prepare the area for the anchor installations. 3'x3'x3' excavations are done at each proposed anchor location, exposing the foundation or slab at areas affected.
Depending on accessibility, the appropriate equipment is used to install the helical anchors. The anchors are screwed into the soil until the recommended depths and torque are reached. Extensions may be added to each helical anchor to facilitate depths ranging from 10 to 30 feet or more. Once the anchor is established in substantial soil, a bracket is attached to support the foundation or slab depending on the affected area.
In many cases, "lifting" the stabilized area is necessary. The foundation "lifting procedure" is performed by attaching hydraulic jacks to a lifting bracket in specific locations. They are then jacked up to bring the affected area to an acceptable level deemed appropriate. When the desired numbers are achieved, the temporary jacks are removed.
In all cases, the areas affected by the repairs are covered with compacted soil. Should an area need to be accessed through the interior slab, that area is repaired with new concrete. All jobs are kept clean and free of debris, and always with your safety in mind.
